Cedars-Sinai Offering Free Back-to-School Vaccines Saturday

Media Invited: Hundreds of Schoolchildren Expected for Free Healthcare and Backpack Giveaway

WHAT:

Cedars-Sinai is joining several local organizations in a large back-to-school health fair this Saturday.

Cedars-Sinai’s COACH for Kids health professionals will be administering all vaccines required for children to start the school year in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Vaccines available include TDAP, MMR and polio vaccines as well as COVID-19 boosters. In addition, Cedars-Sinai Healthy Habits staff members will conduct health education workshops, including healthy food tips and cooking demonstrations. Cedars-Sinai Share &Care staff also will lead mindfulness exercises for parents and children.

Other organizations participating in the health fair will provide dental cleanings for children 2 years and up, as well as other health screenings. There also will be a large school supply and backpack giveaway.

WHO:

Cedars-Sinai’s COACH for KIDS, Share & Care and Healthy Habits professionals will join other local organizations at a large back-to-school health fair for local parents and children.

Cedars-Sinai leaders will be on hand for interviews. “A successful school year is predicated on students being in good mental and physical health and we want to offer every tool possible to make that a reality,” said Shalini Prasad COACH for Kids associate director.
