Cedars-Sinai COACH for Kids is a landmark mobile medical and case-management program that provides free primary and preventive healthcare services for low-income and medically underserved children and their families in Los Angeles County. Operating under the belief that a healthy child does not exist without a healthy family, this multi-component program also offers social services assessments, plans and referrals for each family. Since 1994, COACH for Kids has treated more than 145,000 people free of charge and currently provides a 24-hour staff contact system and a regular, established visit schedule.
COACH for Kids Services
The COACH for Kids program offers healthcare that includes:

- Hearing and vision screenings
- Blood lead and anemia screenings
- Developmental screenings
- Treatment for minor illnesses
- Referrals to Cedars-Sinai or community clinics
- Supportive counseling
- Parenting education
- Crisis intervention

- Job training and placement referrals
- Housing referrals

- Parent support groups

- Nutrition assessments
- Nutrition and fitness health education
- Referrals to specialized nutrition/physical activity programs
