Women's Health Research at Cedars-Sinai 

  • Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center: The Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center at the Smidt Heart Institute is playing a leading role in identifying female-pattern heart disease, developing new diagnostic tools and advancing specialized care for women. 
  • The Center for Research in Women’s Health Science (CREWHS)  seeks to understand how diseases affect women differently than men, shedding light on critical issues and improving the health and wellbeing of countless lives.  CREWHS works to increase health equity through conducting research on a range of conditions affecting women, including autoimmune diseases, cancer, cardiovascular health, maternal-fetal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN and reproductive health, and orthopedics.

  • Van Eyk Laboratory: The Van Eyk Laboratory investigates the molecular basis behind a variety of cardiovascular disorders. Projects range from basic discovery research to clinically relevant analytical studies. The common thread that runs through these projects is proteomics, the study of proteins.
