Cedars-Sinai Promotes Four to Senior Vice President
Advancements Spotlight Cedars-Sinai’s Focus on Enhancing Patient Care and Access Amid Steady Growth of the Organization
Cedars-Sinai has promoted four leaders to senior vice president, reflecting their expanded scopes of responsibility for improving patient care and access as the organization continues to grow.
The promotions of Jennifer Blaha, MBA; Clare Lee, MBA; Lisa Maqueira; and Alen Voskanian, MD, MBA, represent an intentional investment in leadership capacity to meet Cedars-Sinai’s core mission of delivering the highest-quality care to patients in Los Angeles and beyond.
“These four leaders exemplify the operational excellence and strategic acumen required to deliver on our care vision,” said Peter L. Slavin, MD, president and CEO of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Health System. “Collectively, these promotions expand the portfolio of responsibilities held by leaders who have shown, time and again, that operational excellence and exceptional patient care are complementary priorities.”
Blaha, senior vice president of Surgical Services, joined Cedars-Sinai 17 years ago from GE Healthcare, where she served as a senior consultant, and has since risen through senior operational roles across the institution before being named vice president of Operations in 2018.
In her new role, she will oversee the service lines of Neurosurgery, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Transplant and Urology, along with Peri-Procedural Services, including Anesthesia and OR Operations.
Blaha has built a strong record of improving clinical quality, patient satisfaction and operational efficiency across the surgical service lines she now leads. She was one of 22 healthcare leaders selected nationally for the Carol Emmott Fellowship, a competitive program advancing women in healthcare leadership.
Lee, senior vice president of Medical Services, brings 34 years of healthcare experience, including 21 years at the executive level, to her new role. She joined Cedars-Sinai in 2018 as vice president of Operations. Prior to Cedars-Sinai, Lee was chief operating officer at Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento and vice president of Operations at Houston Methodist.
In her new role, she will oversee the service lines of Medicine, OB/GYN, Pediatrics and Psychiatry, along with Imaging, Lab and Pathology, and Emergency Services. Over her career, she has transformed clinical operations within the service lines under her purview, cultivating strong leaders and driving significant improvements across clinical and operational areas.
Maqueira, senior vice president of Finance and chief revenue cycle officer, joined Cedars-Sinai in 2011 as director of Professional Billing and Revenue Cycle Services, leading the transformation of professional billing operations. She was promoted to vice president of Revenue Cycle and Managed Care Operations in 2016, taking on expanded responsibility for managed care operations and contracting, professional compliance, government incentives, and centralized scheduling for Cedars-Sinai Medical Network.
Maqueira was named vice president of Finance and chief revenue cycle officer in 2022, leading the organization’s integrated revenue cycle strategy across hospitals and physician networks. With 33 years of revenue cycle experience, she has consistently delivered stronger collections, improved charge capture and greater operational efficiency. In her new role, she is accountable for setting and executing a strategic vision to advance exceptional patient and provider experience while strengthening financial performance.
Voskanian, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Ambulatory Clinics, joined Cedars-Sinai in 2018 from VITAS Healthcare, where he was regional medical director. He served as medical director of Cedars-Sinai Medical Group and later as vice president and chief operating officer of Cedars-Sinai Medical Network.
A practicing physician who continues to care for patients, Voskanian has helped lead ambulatory strategy and the growth and integration of specialty practices, contributing to substantial growth in weekly patient volumes during his tenure as chief operating officer. Working closely with clinical and administrative leaders, he has also advanced a dyad leadership model that strengthens collaboration, improves operational performance and supports physicians and staff in delivering high-quality care.
