WHAT

Cedars-Sinai is commemorating the 22nd Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a celebration dedicated to honoring the legacy of the Rev. Dr. King and a tribute to the ideals of justice, equality, and community service championed by the iconic civil rights leader.

This meaningful gathering will feature an inspiring keynote address by Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League, followed by a musical performance by Sheléa.

  • Keynote Speaker: Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League
    • Morial has served as the Mayor of New Orleans as well as the President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and was previously a Louisiana State Senator.
  • Musical Guest: Sheléa, singer, songwriter, pianist, musician, producer, and actress

  • Morial is a leading voice on the national stage in the battle for jobs, education, housing, health, voting rights, equity, and entrepreneurship. An influential advocate for various social issues, Morial is the author of the acclaimed book "Gumbo Coalition: 10 Leadership Lessons That Help You Inspire, Unite, and Achieve." He is widely recognized for his contributions, having been named one of the 100 most influential Black Americans by Ebony Magazine.
     
  • Sheléa is a singer, songwriter, pianist, musician, producer and actress who landed her first major role as Dorinda Clark in The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel. A vocal powerhouse, she has performed at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, the White House and the Royal Albert Hall.
