Tipsheet: American Transplant Congress 2023

Prominent Investigators to Present New Research on Living Donor Organ Donation, Protocols to Prevent Organ Rejection

Cedars-Sinai clinicians and scientists, including Medawar Prize winner Stanley Jordan, MD, and prominent nephrology and immunology investigator Peter Heeger, MD, will share their latest advances in research at the American Transplant Congress (ATC), June 3-7, 2023, in San Diego. The ATC is the joint annual meeting of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and the American Society of Transplantation.

Cedars-Sinai physicians and scientists will be available for interviews on a variety of clinical and research topics related to transplantation and immunology.

Highlights of this year’s ATC include presentations about removing disincentives to living donor kidney donation, an assay that the Cedars-Sinai transplant immunology team developed to identify patients at risk for antibody-mediated rejection, and desensitization protocols for highly HLA-sensitized patients, a field in which Cedars-Sinai is a world leader.

For more information about any of the below presentations, or to schedule an interview with one of the Cedars-Sinai transplant experts, please contact Sarah Lichtman at 540-834-7954 or sarah.lichtman@cshs.org.
