Chair of Cedars-Sinai's S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center Elected President of The American College of Radiology

Los Angeles - May 31, 2007 – Barry D. Pressman, M.D., FACR, chair of the S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, was elected president of The American College of Radiology (ACR) at the organization’s annual meeting held recently in Washington, DC.

Pressman, who is also Chief of Head and Neck Radiology and Neuroradiology at Cedars- Sinai, will serve as president of the ACR for the 2007 to 2008 term. The nonprofit organization represents more than 32, 000 members nationwide. “Dr. Pressman has served with distinction as chair of the ACR Communications Commission and on the ACR Board of Chancellors for many years. He is a leader in the field of radiology and in medicine as a whole. The ACR as an organization looks forward to his continued outstanding leadership as president,” said ACR Executive Director Harvey L. Neiman, M.D.

Pressman is a past president of the California Radiological Society and the Western Neuroradiological Society. He is also a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology and the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology.

Pressman has conducted research in the diagnostics of pituitary tumors, congenital diseases of brain development and in imaging in spinal cord trauma. He serves on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of the American College of Radiology® and previously was on the editorial board of the American Journal of Neuroradiology.

Pressman, who is board certified in diagnostic radiology, lives in Beverly Hills.
