Cedars-Sinai Comprehensive Transplant Center Patients, Healthcare Professionals Mark Donate Life Month With Ceremonial Flag Raising
Media Invited to Cover Organ Donation Awareness Event Featuring Transplant Recipients, Donor Advocates, Transplant Experts
WHAT
Cedar-Sinai's Comprehensive Transplant Center professionals, alongside partners from OneLegacy, the nation’s largest organ procurement organization, will mark National Donate Life Month by holding a flag raising ceremony on Tuesday, April 2.
A group of transplant recipients, Cedars-Sinai surgeons, staff, and other advocates will don the awareness colors of blue and green to march from the Comprehensive Transplant Center on Beverly Boulevard to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. There, the group will raise a Donate Life flag, which will be flown at the medical center throughout the month.
WHO
- Jen Flores, former Cedars-Sinai patient, and kidney transplant recipient
Flores received a kidney transplant in 2022 as a pediatric patient. She is now 19 years old and was inspired to study nursing in college because of the staff members who cared for her during her transplant. - Richard Aidem, former Cedars-Sinai patient, and heart transplant recipient

National Donate Life Month occurs every April and promotes awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation and honors those who gave the gift of life.
