Spiritual Care Services
The Spiritual Care Department, an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team at Cedars-Sinai, receives an average of more than 1,200 referrals a month. Patients, family members and loved ones will find a wide variety of services that go hand-in-hand with spiritual care at Cedars-Sinai.
With the philosophy that healing involves the whole person—body, mind and soul—the Spiritual Care Department supports patients and families in spiritual and emotional distress. Our chaplains represent a broad array of religious faiths and cultural backgrounds, and support every individual's worldview without imposing their own. Chaplains can help with:
- Spiritual and emotional healing support
- Prayers and blessings
- Religious texts, literature and ritual items
- Rituals and Sacraments
- End-of-life issues, assistance with advance healthcare directives
- Grief support for patients and family members
- Family support and participation in family-staff meetings
- Communicating patients' cultural and spiritual needs to staff
- Lifecycle events (memorial services, baptisms, weddings, etc.)
- Reiki relaxation sessions
- Mindfulness meditation
- Religious study sessions
- Identifying resources in the community
- Assessing and addressing your spiritual needs
- Support for difficult decision-making
- Critical incident stress management (CISM) and group crisis intervention
- Support for any patient, loved one, or staff experiencing existential/philosophical distress or questioning
Weekly Chapel Services
All services take place in the chapel and are televised on Cedars-Sinai's in-house Channel 50, offering convenience for patients and their families and visitors.

Christian Worship and Fellowship: Noon-12:30 pm

Reiki for Relaxation: Noon-12:30 pm
Friday
Muslim Prayer Service: 1:15-1:45 pm
Shabbat on the Go Service: 3:00-3:15 pm

Catholic Mass: 1:30-2 pm
