Volunteer opportunities at Cedars-Sinai provide direct contact with patients and families—or roles behind the scenes on the administrative side. Whichever you choose, you'll become an ambassador of empathy and compassion while making vital contributions to the wellbeing of patients, visitors and staff.
Adult volunteers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You will need to do the following:
- Submit application
- Upload valid proof of COVID-19 vaccination (digital record, PDF of card, etc.)
- Be available for a virtual interview
- Complete general volunteer orientation
- Complete initial background check
- Receive initial and annual health evaluations
- Get annual flu vaccine
- Purchase the volunteer jacket ($30) and wear the volunteer uniform
Successful applicants must complete online orientation, background check, health evaluation and have flu and COVID-19 vaccinations. Volunteer programs are subject to change based on the status of the current COVID-19 pandemic, to protect the health and safety of our volunteers, patients and staff.
Available Volunteer Programs
We have several different volunteer roles available to help serve Cedars-Sinai patients, visitors and staff. Volunteer shifts are four hours long and are available on weekdays, weeknights and weekends.
We partner with a variety of departments, including through our surgical information desks, our cancer centers, Helping Hand Gift Shop, lobby services, and many more departments and teams. The Emergency Department has occasional openings for those 21 and over. If your application is accepted, we look forward to speaking with you during your interview about your schedule and interests, and our current openings anticipated to be available at the time you would start volunteering.
