Walsh Lab
Christine Walsh, MD, MS, is a physician-scientist in the Cedars-Sinai Division of Gynecologic Oncology. As a physician, she recognizes and seeks to understand the variability in the biologic behavior of different cancers that transcends the currently used pathologic metrics of grade, histology and stage. She studies the genetic changes occurring in ovarian cancer DNA, with the goals of better defining the events that lead to ovarian cancer initiation and progression, and identifying novel therapeutic targets and treatments. The ultimate goal of her work is to identify novel molecular targets that can be inhibited in order to restore platinum sensitivity to chemo resistant ovarian cancers and to improve on the prognosis of women affected with this lethal malignancy.
The Walsh Laboratory is affiliated with the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute and the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in Gynecology.
- Reversing platinum resistance
