Hany Abdel-Hafiz, PhD
Research Scientist

Hany earned his doctorate in biochemistry and molecular biology from Minia University, Egypt, and the University of Colorado (UC) Denver. In postdoc studies, he explored the role of post-translational modifications of transcription factors in cancers. As a UC faculty member, he focused on sex steroid hormone receptors and epigenetics in tamoxifen-resistant luminal breast cancer. Currently at Theodorescu Lab, Hany investigates gender differences in bladder cancer and its response to immunotherapy.

Saswat Mohapatra, PhD
Postdoctoral Scientist

Saswat received his doctorate in cancer biology from the CSIR-Indian Institute Of Chemical Biology. His research focused on peptides and small molecules for combination therapy targeting microtubules and mitochondria in breast cancer, cervical cancer and NSCLC. As a postdoctoral associate at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, Canada, he investigated cancer-specific immunotherapy, studying immune cell roles in cancer and autoimmune microenvironments. Now at Theodorescu Lab, Saswat investigates bladder cancer interventions, emphasizing adaptive and acquired resistance factors.
