Lab Members
Eva Biener-Ramanujan, PhD, received her doctorate in biochemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, in 2006. Her first postdoctoral research work was at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, investigating cytokine receptor signaling and caspase activity, with focus on protein-protein interactions in intact cells. She joined the Targan Laboratory as a postdoctoral scientist in 2008 and has been part of the Gonsky Laboratory since 2013. She is currently focusing on defining the molecular pathways and mechanisms regulating inflammatory bowel disease risk genes in mediating clinical disease course.
Malery Navarro received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During her undergraduate term, she worked in the Lakkaraju Lab, where she examined cellular mechanisms that drive vision loss in inherited and age-related macular degenerations. In addition, she went on to work in the Allen Lab, where she analyzed the plant pathogen, Ralstonia solanacearum, colonization of xylem saps in tomato plants. Her interest in identifying the cellular mechanisms that contribute to diseases led her to the Gonsky Lab, studying Inflammatory bowel diseases. Currently, she is involved in helping identify novel Crohn’s disease clinical biomarkers and therapeutics.
Rosier received his doctorate in genomics and bioinformatics from the Aix Marseille University, France. There, his lab focused on the regulatory variants involved in sepsis and bioinformatics. He is currently investigating immunology and molecular biology in inflammatory bowel disease by integrating clinical and genetic data to define biological consequence.
