About Us
The Cedars-Sinai Advanced Clinical Biosystems Research Institute at Smidt Heart Institute is an interdisciplinary research program that brings together scientists and physicians who focus on high throughput quantitative proteomics and disease-induced biomarker studies. Led by founding director Jennifer Van Eyk, PhD, the program builds on Cedars-Sinai's clinical and research strengths.
Our mission is to:
- Develop and apply targeted protein quantification techniques for studying specific cellular pathways at the molecular level
- Verify protein candidate biomarkers in diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutics from cells, tissues and biofluids
- Educate and train a new generation of scientists and clinicians in proteomics
