Dr. Tang sat in a chair up against the wall with his arms crossed his chest. Perhaps he does not know that when you question your arms like that, he is not open to communication or hearing what somebody else has to say. The appointment seemed rushed, even though he had a scribe with him.

I do not feel like I was heard or given time to answer questions. I am a doctor and I would never behave this way in an exam room. I was interrupted when trying to explain my symptoms. I don't feel like I was listened to, nor do I feel like I received a thorough exam. In reading the summary of my visit there is a standard stamp of physical exam notes, most of which did not actually happen. I had an otoscopic exam and and quick nasal endoscope, and that was the only "exam" I received. I do not feel like options for care were presented, I was simply told that the treatment I was giving myself was "standard", and multiple times that we could look for a surgical option. What if I don't want surgery? What about seeing an allergist? No other treatments were discussed. There was zero space for or welcoming of questions, of which I had many. It genuinely felt like this doctor could not care and simply wanted to leave the room as fast as possible. After waiting 6 weeks for an appointment for chronic pain and issues, I left an exam room after 5 minutes without: any description of my limited physical exam findings, no directions on next steps (ie. Scheduling of additional diagnostics), I had to clarify dosing of medications I was on because the doctor didn't give actual doses, and there was even a recommendation to see an audiologist that was on my visit summary but not spoken to me out loud. While I understand what a nasal endoscopy is, it was not explained to me in detail as it is described in the visit summary. Essentially the summary makes my visit seem nice and balanced, and thorough, and it was the exact opposite. Hands down one of the worst medical visits I have experienced.

Dr Tang was the first physician in Cedars that I found to be have very poor patient skills and the entire appt was disturbing.Let me first say that I have many physicians within Cedars and I think that they are a superb world class healthcare center. However, Dr Tang was the exception. I am an RN that has worked in hospital administration and developed surgical centers for private physicians. I went in to be evaluated for esophageal pain. He told me that I had tonsil stones. (I do not) That I needed better oral care( My oral care is meticulous and I was at the dentist for my semi-annual cleaning and exam just the day before) He and his resident performed a scope of my esophagus. The resident inquired why the scope seemed very "out of focus" - Dr Tang shrugged his shoulders and left the room.I will never return for treatment from Dr Tang and will advise my other physicians of his attitude and lack of care so that they might rethink referrals to him.

I brings me great pleasure to write this "5 Star Review" for Dr. Dennis M. Tang and his Staff. Dr. Dennis M. Tang is extremely personable and unbelievably knowledgeable. I am always supremely impressed with my office visits with him.Every person in his office is professional and they all have great bedside manners, which is so hard to find in a medical professional anymore. They take the time to listen and to be very warm and personable. The front desk staff is A+ friendly and professional as well.Everything about Dr. Dennis M. Tang office is terrific, he is caring, sympathetic, understanding and beyond special in so many ways. He is truly wonderful and has turned my ear and nose problems around. He has been unwilling to give up on finding the reason for my problems. I thank my lucky stars for him and he has my highest recommendation. Thank You to Dr. Dennis M. Tang and I won't think of seeing another Otolaryngology (ENT). I will continue to recommend your office to all of my friends and family.

I had a good experience with the doctor and the assistant. They did a good job with the exam and explaining what my treatment options were. It was very fast though. I don't think the doctor was with me for more than 5 minutes. The assistant who initially listened to my symptoms was with me a bit longer, maybe 7-8 minutes. Between the two exams of my nose and discussions of symptoms and treatments, etc., less than 15 minutes.

I thought he was very kind when he first walked into the room. His approach was warm & appeared interested in hearing me. I'm struggling with ear discomfort, discharge, and stuffinessbut am challenged with articulating what is happening. Ultimately, the doctor said I just need a nasal antihistamine spray. But, I think something is off. I woke up this morning with lots of fluid coming out of my ear and my ears feel muffled. I don't think this is just due to allergies so I feel a bit ignored. I have found that time and time again, doctors dismiss my symptoms (for anything) because I'm overweight. I'll accept that this causes inflammation or other things that can seem disconnected but are directly related to my weight/weight gain but that part is never discussed. My ears feels muffled and overwhelmingly stuffed up and my hearing is compromised. If this is connected to my weight, then why won't a doctor state that directly and refer me to a medical weight loss specialist? Instead, I'm given meds (steroid meds usually) and I'm told to take 6 weeks. That's a long time to deal with muffled hearing. It's all disheartening.
