Jamie Harris, MS, NCC, CPRW, LPCC
Jamie Harris is a Licensed Professional Certified Career Counselor working in non-profit, academic and private sectors. She is the Career Counselor for Cedars-Sinai. She is also a counselor, corporate trainer and the lead of client services for Career Journeys in Pasadena, CA.
Jamie has multiple years of experience working in the career development industry. She has worked with diverse student populations at Los Angeles Pierce College, Los Angeles Valley College, CBD College and, most recently, Pasadena City College. Jamie has conducted numerous career exploration and job search workshops. She also developed and delivered curriculum for a weekly Job Club at Pasadena City College and has served as an adjunct instructor at California State University, Northridge in the Educational Psychology Department and at Santa Monica College.
In her private practice work, Jamie has effectively supported the career exploration, development and growth of adults in transition. She has experience administering the Strong Interest Inventory, MBTI, COPS/COPES, Value Card Sort, Motivated Skills Card Sort and the SDS. Jamie is responsible for developing customized career transitions plans including resume revision, informational interviews and the use of relevant online career exploration resources. She conducts regular professional development and intact MBTI training sessions for Southern California Edison as part of an ongoing leadership development initiative.
As the Career Counselor for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Jamie provides individual career counseling, resources, assessment and interpretation and participates in strategic organizational planning initiatives. She collaborates with the Organizational Development team and “School at Work” program, providing career guidance to participants dealing with multiple barriers to employment success, and was recently acknowledged with a “Standing Ovation” Award for quality customer service.
In addition to her work in career development, Jamie has over 17 years of experience in both the entertainment industry and the non-profit sector. She worked as a marketing and promotions manager for DreamWorks SKG, DIRECTV and The Walt Disney Company. She was the Senior Director of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team-In-Training program, overseeing a staff of 22 and a seven million dollar budget. Jamie was a program manager for Jewish Vocational Service, successfully creating and delivering training materials for vocational education and career mentoring programs supporting adults facing multiple barriers to employment.
Jamie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from University of California, Santa Barbara, a Master’s Degree in Counseling with a specialization in Career Counseling from California State University, Northridge, is a Licensed Professional Certified Counselor (LPCC), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW).
