Description

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Group Crisis Intervention course will provide participants with knowledge and practical skills necessary to respond to the emotional needs of colleagues involved in events that are disruptive to the workplace, overwhelm or compromise team's usual coping ability. The goal is to return healthy people back to their previous level of functioning, as quickly as possible.

The CISM team is an excellent example of Best Practices and the interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration that occurs in our health system on a daily basis. The CISM team is composed of nurses, doctors, mental health clinicians, chaplains & security personnel.

All Participants who complete course (both days required) will receive a certificate in "Group Crisis Intervention."

CEU's for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs

  • Course meets the qualifications for 14 hours of Continuing Education credits for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Work & Life Matters is Continuing Education Approved Provider #128588. Course Completion Certificates will be awarded at the end of the class for participants who are present for the entire 14 hours duration and return evaluations.

CEU's for RN's

  • 17.1 Hours of Continuing Education for RN's.
  • Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing Provider CEP #664.
  • No partial CE credit for incomplete attendance. Attending only 1day, arriving 15 or more minutes late, or leaving 15 minutes or more early will be incomplete attendance.

Fees

  • Two-Day Program is no cost to Cedars-Sinai Employees
  • Two-Day Program cost for Non Cedars-Sinai Employee $300.00

Grievances

Any program participant who has a grievance can submit the grievance in writing and addressed to the Program Administrator, Chris Gomberg (gomberg@cshs.org) who is the Director of Work and Life Matters/EAP. The Program Administrator will review the grievance, request additional information as needed, and respond within fifteen (15) calendar days from the time all necessary information has been submitted.
