The Supportive Care Medicine Program at Cedars-Sinai provides specialized consultative services to patients living with serious illness. The team focuses on improving your quality of life by addressing disease-related or treatment-related symptoms, providing support to you and your family, and assisting with advance care planning. These consultative services are available at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided along with curative treatment.

Inpatient Services
The Supportive Care Medicine consultation service is available to any patient admitted to Cedars-Sinai. The interdisciplinary team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, licensed clinical social workers, a pharmacist and a chaplain who work with patients, families and the rest of the medical team to provide an additional layer of support and care coordination. Supportive Care Medicine assists with pain and symptom management and has expertise in developing personalized care plans that meet patients' and families' goals.

Outpatient Services
Patients may be seen in the outpatient supportive care medicine clinic to address pain or other symptoms and facilitate advance care planning discussions. Supportive care medicine providers also can visit patients in their homes, assisted living facilities and skilled nursing facilities.
