An accurate and speedy diagnosis is critical to developing an effective treatment plan for patients with life-threatening endocrine conditions. Cedars-Sinai Pediatric Endocrinology Services offers comprehensive testing and evaluation of all endocrine disorders to diagnose any problems and to determine the cause.

Pediatric Endocrinology Services also provides prenatal evaluation and counseling for families whose unborn children are identified as having a possible endocrine disorder. Pediatric Endocrinology Services uses the most advanced diagnostic technology and procedures to accurately identify abnormal conditions. These tests include:

  • Blood tests
  • Head ultrasound
  • Pelvic ultrasound
  • CT imaging of the pituitary gland
  • MR imaging of the pituitary gland
  • Urine analysis

Pediatric Endocrinology Services provides the most advanced treatments available for children with endocrine conditions. Because the hospital can be a frightening place for children, services are delivered within state-of-the-art facilities designed for patient and family comfort, helping to relieve the stress of undergoing treatment.

Pediatric Endocrinology Services also works in partnership with Cedars-Sinai's Adult Endocrinology team to offer comprehensive transition care for children as they develop into young adults and require ongoing endocrine care.

In addition, Pediatric Endocrinology Services works closely with community agencies such as JDRF, the Turner Syndrome Foundation, the MAGIC Foundation and the Association for X and Y Chromosome Variations to help ensure that that patients receive the developmental, nutritional, educational and other resources they need. Available treatments include:

  • Comprehensive diabetes education
  • Drug therapy
  • Nutritional therapy
  • Psychosocial support
