Pediatric Neuropsychology

The Pediatric Neuropsychology Program offers comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations of children’s cognitive, emotional and behavioral functioning to both inpatients and outpatients at Cedars-Sinai. Our pediatric specialists help identify individual strengths and limitations, develop child-specific recommendations and direct intervention planning across an entire team of doctors, including neurologists, pediatricians, oncologists and neurosurgeons, as needed.

Any child who has been diagnosed with a neurological condition may be seen by one of our pediatric neuropsychologists. Patients younger than 3 are accepted in our outpatient clinic on a case-by-case basis. Some of the conditions we treat include:

  • Acquired brain injury, such as traumatic brain injury, brain tumors and stroke.
  • Epilepsy (seizures).
  • Hydrocephalus.
  • Genetic conditions.
  • Neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum conditions.

Signs and symptoms that may signal the need for neuropsychology include:

  • Difficulty paying attention or concentrating.
  • Declines in learning or memory.
  • Language delays.
  • Problems in school.
  • Behavioral issues.
