Commitment to Quality
Faster intervention makes all the difference when treating a stroke. The stroke expert team at Cedars-Sinai works as a highly coordinated rapid response group, deploying neurologists, neuroradiologists and other experts the moment you need us. This commitment is what sets us apart—and has resulted in a number of accolades, such as the Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus award and certifications for the Cedars-Sinai Stroke Program.
Continuing our commitment to excellence, the Cedars-Sinai Stroke Program continually monitors and publicly reports the quality of care given to our patients. These care measures include the types of strokes we treat, the stroke patient education we provide, the rehabilitation plans we create following a stroke, how our patients are discharged after stroke treatment and more.
Comprehensive Stroke Center status is the highest quality achievement possible under The Joint Commission guidelines. It is awarded to centers that follow national standards and guidelines that can significantly improve outcomes for stroke patients. This award means that Cedars-Sinai's Comprehensive Stroke Center has the equipment, infrastructure, staff and training programs needed to diagnose and treat even the most complex stroke cases.
Cedars-Sinai's Stroke Program consistently receives the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's highest honors—the Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) Gold Plus award for exemplary performance at reducing stroke-related death and disability, as well as the "Target: Stroke" program's Honor Roll for commitment to rapid treatment with lifesaving clot-busting drugs.
Due to proven rapid response and award-winning outcomes, the Los Angeles County Emergency Stroke System has designated Cedars-Sinai as a certified Approved Stroke Center, making it one of the first places that a suspected stroke patient is taken, rather than the closest hospital.
Cedars-Sinai consistently holds a place of distinction on the U.S. News & World Report's annual "America's Best Hospitals" report. The departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery are among the medical center's 12 nationally ranked specialties.
