The Preventive and Rehabilitative Cardiac Center at the Smidt Heart Institute is a comprehensive program offering exercise, nutrition and psychosocial support to patients diagnosed with a heart condition. Heart conditions include:
- Angioplasty
- Bypass surgery
- Congestive heart failure (specific criteria apply)
- Heart attack
- Heart transplant
- New onset chest pain (within the past 12 months)
- Valve surgery (replacement or repair)
Treatments
- Monitored and unmonitored, supervised exercise
- Nutrition counseling
- Stress management
