Clinically, Finder serves as chief of and is one of the ethics consultants for Cedars-Sinai's Clinical Ethics Consultation Service. Institutionally, he serves in a variety of roles, including as the permanent co-chair of the Bioethics Committee, Chair of the Clinical Pastoral Education Professional Advisory Committee, co-leader of the Serious Illness Communication Skills Initiative, is a member of the Institutional Review Board Leadership Group, and a member of the Chief of Staff Advisory Council, among others. Academically, Finder is a Professor of Surgery and a Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Cedars-Sinai as well as an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine.

As a clinician, a teacher and a researcher, Finder is interested in exploring the complexity and implications of moral experiences as actualized in healthcare contexts. This includes the entire spectrum of the healthcare arena, from patient care to clinical and basic sciences research.
