The Cedars-Sinai Digestive and Liver Diseases team welcomes patient referrals and offers a number of graduate and continuing medical education opportunities. These include Grand Rounds, conferences, fellowships, research and other opportunities. Participants have access to the doctors, surgeons and scientists who make Cedars-Sinai a worldwide leader in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders.

Fellowship Programs

The Cedars-Sinai Digestive and Liver Diseases Center offers advanced fellowship training for qualified candidates. This experience exposes candidates to rigorous outpatient and inpatient clinical training, as well as the opportunity to engage in basic, translational and clinical research projects.

Designed to interpret findings on small bowel video capsule endoscopy and improve accuracy, this conference features a review of capsule films in case-based illustrations from the Cedars-Sinai GI Laboratory.

Case management conference designed to review latest information regarding diagnostic and therapeutic treatment for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. It is an informal discussion but can be conducted at a high level based on attendance of thought leader and surgical team.

Pathology

Educational conference for GI fellows to review recent cases with GI pathology faculty. Fellows are expected to identify tissue types, evidence from inflammation, and evidence for dysplasia and cancer.

Psychosocial Seminar

Didactic topic reviews and Socratic discussions followed by case presentations aimed at increasing awareness and providing tools for managing the emotional needs of patients.

Utilize a coordinated multidisciplinary approach in screening, diagnosing and managing patients with esophageal disorders. Discuss the pros and cons of various endoscopic techniques employed in managing early esophageal cancer. Analyze current surveillance guidelines for Barrett's esophagus and their application in minimizing sampling errors. 1.0 CME credit
