Muslim Chaplain

Khurram Ahmed is a Muslim chaplain who advocates for the religious, spiritual and ritual needs of Muslim patients, families and staff. Khurram has been associated with the Cedars-Sinai Spiritual Care Department since 2015 when he began his Clinical Pastoral Education training. He now serves as the department's first fellow.

Apart from providing spiritual care and support through circumstances that may be life-altering and life-ending, Khurram facilitates ritual practice through traditional Islamic forms of worship, like recitation of Quran, supplications and ritual prayer.

Khurram is a candidate for a master's of Divinity in Islamic Chaplaincy at the nation's first such program at Bayan Claremont, California. He previously pursued undergraduate studies at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, as well as graduate studies at the University of the West Indies, in Kingston, Jamaica.

Khurram was born in Pakistan and grew up in the Caribbean, with time split between Jamaica and Barbados.
