MEDIA ADVISORY: Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Experts to Present Latest Research on Musculoskeletal Care

Cedars-Sinai Physicians Available to Comment on Limb Reconstruction, Orthobiologics, Arthroplasty, Geriatric Bone Health and More at Major Orthopaedic Conference

Surgeons and investigators from Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedics bring their leading-edge expertise in treatment and the latest clinical research to the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) in Las Vegas March 7-11.

Abstracts from Cedars-Sinai orthopaedic surgeons and researchers will address post-traumatic arthritis in total joint arthroplasty, establishing a hospital-based outpatient joint replacement unit during COVID-19; injectables in the management of osteoarthritis of the knee; and delayed total hip arthroplasty for acetabular fractures in the elderly.

"Whether you’re a resident or a seasoned physician, the AAOS annual meeting is valuable at any stage in an orthopaedic career," said Mark Vrahas, MD, chair of Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedics. "The in-person gathering is a vital opportunity for those vested in advancing musculoskeletal care through the latest clinical and scientific research.”

In addition to including posters and breakout sessions from Cedars-Sinai experts, the meeting marks the beginning term for incoming AAOS committee members.

Steven Shin, MD, executive vice chair and director of clinical operations of Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedics, has been appointed chair of the AAOS Hand and Wrist Program Committee and will continue as a member of the Hand and Wrist Instructional Course Committee.

During the conference, Cedars-Sinai physicians and scientists are available to comment on the findings of their research as well as on a wide range of orthopaedic-related topics, including orthopaedic trauma, limb reconstruction, sports medicine, orthobiologics, and geriatric bone health.
