Cedars-Sinai Ranked No. 2 Hospital in United States by U.S. News & World Report

In Annual Best Hospitals Analysis, the Medical Center Also Ranked in 11 Medical Specialties in the U.S.

Cedars-Sinai has been named the No. 2 hospital in the U.S. in U.S. News & World Report’s "Best Hospitals 2022-23" rankings. 

The influential annual analysis also ranked Cedars-Sinai as the No. 1 hospital in California.

The U.S. News rankings are based on patient outcomes, patient experience, technology, reputation (according to surveyed physicians) and a variety of other health-related measures.

Cedars-Sinai had 11 specialties ranked in the U.S., according to the hospital rankings released Tuesday. This means the medical center is among the top hospitals in the U.S. in these clinical areas (U.S. rankings are provided in parentheses):

  • Cancer (No. 11)
  • Cardiology & Heart Surgery (No. 3)
  • Diabetes & Endocrinology (No. 12)
  • Ear, Nose & Throat (No. 3)
  • Gastroenterology & GI Surgery (No. 2)
  • Geriatrics (No. 10)
  • Neurology & Neurosurgery (No. 7)
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology (No. 15)
  • Orthopedics (No. 3)
  • Pulmonology & Lung Surgery (No. 3)
  • Urology (No. 3)

Eight of these specialties ranked in the Top 10 in the U.S.:

  • Cardiology & Heart Surgery (No. 3)
  • Ear, Nose & Throat (No. 3)
  • Gastroenterology & GI Surgery (No. 2)
  • Geriatrics (No. 10)
  • Neurology & Neurosurgery (No. 7)
  • Orthopedics (No. 3)
  •  Pulmonology & Lung Surgery (No. 3)
  • Urology (No. 3)

In addition, five of these specialties ranked No. 1 in California:
