Cedars-Sinai Ranked as a Top Quality IT Workplace for Fifth Year in a Row

Los Angeles - June 24, 2013 – For the fifth consecutive year, Cedars-Sinai has been named one of the best workplaces for information technology professionals by a leading national publication centered on the computer technology industry.

Cedars-Sinai is ranked on the annual list of IDG’s Computerworld Best Places to Work in Information Technology (IT).

“The technology team is dedicated to innovation and the use of leading-edge technology solutions across the enterprise to improve patient safety and enable clinicians to practice more efficiently,” said Darren Dworkin, senior vice president and chief information officer. “We recognize that we could not do this work without the commitment from our outstanding IT staff.”

Computerworld noted that Cedars-Sinai’s IT experts work in an “open and collaborative environment” where ongoing training and knowledge are the “key focus.”

The Best Places to Work in Information Technology (IT) list is an annual ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals. Computerworld compiles the list based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers — more than 27,000 were surveyed this year — and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.

Computerworld has ranked the top work environments for technology professionals since 1994. Cedars-Sinai has been a presence on the list since 2009.

The medical center’s focus on employee satisfaction attracts the best and brightest minds in the field, said Dworkin.

“We are proud of our achievements, our team’s diversity and our dedication to continued education and training for our team members,” Dworkin said.
