Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center is Among Best Programs in U.S.

Cedars-Sinai’s Orthopaedic Center is one of only 60 hospitals nationwide to be named as one of the “Hospitals with Great Orthopaedic Programs,” a distinction awarded by Becker’s Hospital Review, a national magazine focused on healthcare services and management.

Cedars-Sinai’s program was recognized for its excellence in all areas of orthopaedics, including quality of service, number of procedures performed and an outstanding national and local reputation.

Earlier this year, Cedars-Sinai’s orthopaedic program was named as one of the top in the country by U.S. News & World Report’s 2010-11 “Best Hospitals” issue –the program ranked No. 22 in the widely respected survey of almost 5,000 medical centers.

“These awards reflect Cedars-Sinai’s extraordinary commitment to providing the best possible care to our patients from across Southern California and around the world,” said William W. Brien, MD, medical director of the Orthopaedic Center and executive vice-chairman, Department of Surgery, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. “They also highlight the high level of expertise we have in diagnosing and treating orthopaedic problems.”

Cedars-Sinai’s Orthopaedic Center provides a continuum of treatment from conservative, nonsurgical medical care to minimally invasive procedures for a range of orthopaedic conditions. Its nationally recognized physician team includes experts in joint replacement, foot and ankle, hand, spine, bone tumor, sports medicine and trauma injuries.

The center’s physicians have extensive experience and training and all surgeons are board certified in orthopedics or neurosurgery. The center has recently added a residency program opening July 2012.
