Cedars-Sinai Opens West LA Urgent Care, Dermatology Practice

Just in time for the height of flu season, Cedars-Sinai has opened a new urgent care in West Los Angeles at 11620 Wilshire Blvd., just west of Federal Avenue. The location also will add a new dermatology practice next week.

"These new medical offices reflect our commitment to making quality care more accessible to our patients, whether that means convenient appointments during flu season or access to a dermatologist who accepts insurance," said John Jenrette, MD, executive vice president of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network.

Cedars-Sinai Urgent Care provides same-day care for patients of all ages experiencing an illness or injury that isn't life-threatening, such as cough, cut, rash, sprain or strain. In addition to board-certified internists and family medicine physicians, a care team of nurse practitioners and physician assistants can address many patient needs.

Patients can save a spot in line for an appointment later the same day using the "Save My Spot" feature online or through the Cedars-Sinai mobile app. Urgent care hours are noon to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

Starting Jan. 21, the dermatology practice can treat adults and children for common and complex conditions affecting the skin, hair and nails such as acne, skin cancer and eczema. Board-certified dermatologists also will offer a broad range of cosmetic dermatology services.

The new 7,500-square-foot medical offices will feature on-site labs and X-rays. Most forms of insurance will be accepted by both practices, including HMO, POS, PPO and Medicare.
