Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Honored By American Hospital Association For Quality, Safety and Patient Care

Los Angeles - July 30, 2007 - Cedars-Sinai Medical Center was recently recognized by the American Hospital Association for its leadership, innovation and commitment to quality patient care.

The hospital, one of only five nationwide so honored, was named a finalist for the American Hospital Association-McKesson Quest for Quality Prize, which recognizes healthcare organizations committed to creating a culture of quality patient care and developing successful approaches to quality improvements. The award was presented at an American Hospital Association (AHA) meeting in San Diego.

The AHA’s selection committee of healthcare and patient experts praised the medical center’s strong team approach to quality improvements and initiatives, as well as the organization’s ability to spread innovative approaches quickly throughout the medical center. Cedars-Sinai was also recognized for its efforts to integrate patient- and family-centered approaches into the delivery of medical care and services.

The 2007 AHA-McKesson Quest for Quality Prize winner overall was the Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, IN. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City were both named finalists.
