Cedars-Sinai Calls for Blood Donations at Festival Los Clippers
Experts Available to Discuss Need for Blood Donations from the Latinx Community
Cedars-Sinai is reaching out to the Latinx community by hosting a blood drive at Festival Los Clippers presented by Cedars-Sinai, AT&T, and McDonalds. The free event on Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles will include live performances and family-friendly activities.
Latinx donors are urgently needed:
- 57% of Latinxs are type O blood, which is routinely in high demand by hospitals.
- Those who have O negative blood, the universal blood type, can donate to anyone in need.
A single blood donation takes 10 to 15 minutes to collect and can save the lives of up to three individuals suffering from a variety of health conditions, including traumatic injury, cancer, blood disorders and heart conditions.
Cedars-Sinai experts are available for interviews in English or Spanish.
The blood drive is open to anyone who is eligible to donate blood.
A Cedars-Sinai mobile blood unit will be at:
125 Paseo De Plaza
