PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency

This ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program builds on doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY-2) pharmacy residency training. Residents achieve professional and clinical competence serving as members of a multidisciplinary healthcare team providing direct patient care to a variety of patient populations during clinical rotations in inpatient practice, drug distribution, pharmacy management and other elective rotations. Residents will develop teaching skills through by training the healthcare team and patients. They will exercise leadership in improving the safety of the medication use system and develop problem-solving skills through participation in departmental and organizational initiatives. Residents will develop a commitment to lifelong learning and professional practice.
