Clinical Program

We are a fully accredited program that accepts four residents per year, all categorical. The program is five years in length with four and a half years spent at Cedars-Sinai, and six months spent at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and Shriners Hospital for Children.

The vast majority of the clinical rotations take place at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center allowing the residents to easily attend all conferences. The hospital provides superb on-call facilities, excellent ancillary services including around the clock intravenous, phlebotomy and blood gas teams, EKG services, radiology technicians and patient transport services. In addition to a salaried position, residents receive several added benefits including a monthly housing and food allowances and free parking.

PGY-1
  • Six months General Surgery (Surgical Oncology, Vascular, Night Float, General Trauma, ICU, Plastics)
  • Six months Orthopaedic Surgery (Trauma, Hand, MSK Radiology)
PGY-2
  • Six months Orthopaedic Trauma
  • Two months Spine
  • Two months Adult Reconstruction
  • Two months Hand
PGY-3
  • Three months Sports Medicine, Kerlan-Jobe Institute
  • Three months Adult Reconstruction
  • Three months Orthopaedic Trauma
  • Three months Pediatric Orthopaedics, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA)
PGY-4
  • Three months Pediatric Orthopaedics, Shriners for Children Medical Center
  • Three months Foot and Ankle
  • Three months Orthopaedic Oncology
  • Three months Hand
PGY-5
  • Four months Orthopaedic Trauma
  • Three months Adult Reconstruction
  • Three months Sports Medicine
  • Two months Electives
