Facilities & Resources

The training site for all rotations (inpatient and outpatient) in the Interventional Cardiology (IC) Fellowship is the Smidt Heart Institute. Interventional procedure services are provided in the Cardiovascular Intervention Center, which includes six fully equipped IC procedure rooms with state-of-the-art equipment for cardiac interventions. In the catheterization lab, fellows are trained on a wide spectrum of interventional cardiology procedures, including complex coronary interventions, peripheral vascular interventions and structural heart disease interventions.

We are recognized as leaders in the field of transcatheter valve therapies and other complex structural heart disease interventions. In that capacity, we are an official training site for percutaneous mitral valve repair and left atrial appendage closure.
