Training & Curriculum

Clinical experience during a two-year fellowship provides the opportunity to gain COCATS level 3 competency in cardiac CT, MRI and nuclear cardiology/cardiac PET.

The program provides a lecture curriculum that covers basic and clinical science pertaining to cardiac imaging (including SPECT, PET, cardiac MRI and cardiac CT); weekly meetings for review of current cases; and a weekly research meeting, oriented around the research projects of the fellows. The fellow will be part of the fellowship programs of both the Department of Imaging and the Smidt Heart Institute.

We have a limited number of funded positions. Individuals with external funding are encouraged to apply. Externally funded candidates should be seeking 12 to 24 months' experience in cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and nuclear cardiology/cardiac PET. Interest in participating in cardiac imaging research is required.

All the graduates from our internally and externally funded programs are in academic positions.
