John D. Friedman, MD

Chief, Outpatient Cardiac Imaging

John D. Friedman, MD is the Chief of Outpatient Cardiac Imaging at the S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center. Dr. Friedman is board certified in nuclear medicine and in internal medicine with a subspecialty in cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Friedman's research focus is on the clinical application and quantitative analysis of nuclear cardiology, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and new imaging agents that can be used for both modalities to provide the most diagnostic information.

Dr. Friedman has written or co-written numerous papers for peer-reviewed publications. He has presented lectures, both locally and nationally, focusing on myocardial single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging.

A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Friedman received his medical degree from the University of Southern California and completed his internship, residencies and fellowships in internal medicine, cardiology and nuclear medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
