Senior Corner
Cedars-Sinai Medical Group (CSMG) offers comprehensive care, Medicare education, health programs, a Travel Medicine Clinic, community events and other educational tools that cater to the needs of our senior patients.
CSMG's team of specialists, clinical pharmacists, nurse practitioners and a registered dietitian work closely with your personal physician to provide extensive education, help manage your individual medication needs and monitor your progress through our health management programs.
Medicare Education and Information
At age 65 and during open enrollment, you have the opportunity to enroll in several Medicare benefit plans that include medical and hospital care, prescription drugs and other benefits. The investigation process, however, needs to be started months before you turn 65 so that you're prepared when your deadline arrives. CSMG understands that the selection task may seem daunting and has experts to assist you in the process.
CSMG offers free, one-on-one consultation with our Senior Plan Consultant, Martha Burdekin. Ms. Burdekin is an expert in senior benefits through Secure Horizons, and is able to help you navigate the numerous options. Health Management Programs
CSMG offers several comprehensive programs for people with chronic illnesses that require specialized healthcare management. Patients who have been diagnosed with asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and other conditions, may be eligible to participate in one of the medical group's programs.

Travel Consultation and Immunization Services
Many seniors who travel internationally take advantage of CSMG's Travel Medicine Clinic. There, clinical pharmacists who hold a Certificate in Travel Health® awarded by the International Society of Travel Medicine, provide detailed and personalized consultation about travel warnings issued by the U. S. Department of State, food and water precautions, required immunizations, specific country health information and disease prevention strategies when traveling outside the United States. You are able to receive required immunizations at the clinic as well.
Upcoming CSMG Senior Events
Throughout the year, CSMG offers several free health lectures and screenings geared to seniors. Held at different locations, these 30-minute lectures given by physicians or nurse practitioners also include a question and answer session. At many events, free glucose and/or blood pressure screenings may be available. Please view our Events page for a current list of events.
